Synchronised Swimming

The Club offer a big ‘Well Done’ to all the club members who have worked so hard towards achieving Swim 21, especially Andrew Williams. On the 26th March 2009 the club learned that it had been awarded Swim 21 satus. This is a significant achievement on behalf of many Club members, who did preparatory work, went on mandatory courses and pulled togther the documents and supporting evidence.

Swim 21 Accreditation is a ‘Quality Mark’. It recognises nationally and regionally the clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members.

Parents Open Day
On Saturday the 19th November the club held an Open Day for all parents to come and watch the club training session. This was so that parents could see the hard work the girls had been doing but also so the parents at the lower end of the club could see the natural progression through the squads. At the end of the session the whole club right from the Novice classes all the way up to the 15/16/17s showed off their hard work by doing performances of their routines and skills they had learnt. This was a really successful day with lots of parents there to support the swimmers and lots of positive feedback on how good the girls were looking. This is definitely something we will be looking to organize again in 2012.

The Scottish National Age Group competition
was held this weekend where lots of clubs from through out the UK went to compete as their final competition before our British National Age group Competition. Three girls from Portsmouth Victoria travelled up to Scotland to compete and they have once again made us very proud. From our 12 & Under Squad Robyn Stanhope and Rosie Gunn competed in the figure competition and came in a very respectable 5th and 6th place. Not only that but they went on to qualify to swim their duet and bagged the Bronze medal! With lots of feedback from the judges the girls will now have time to upgrade their routine and who knows what Nationals could bring.

Another success from the weekend was that of Rhiannon Williams who won both the Figures and the Solo competition in the 15/16/17 age group. Although now training with Reading Royals to gain experience in a team, we are still very proud!!!

Rushmoor Novice Competition

On the 15th October we sent 15 of our girls to the Rushmoor Novice Competition where they competed in a figure competition where we got some brilliant results. A huge well to Emily Hare who won the Gold medal for the Skill level 1 Under 12s figures, and who then went on the win the Gold medal with her duet partner Trinity Hatherly in the Under 12s Duet Competition. These were not the only medals to be won with Evie Coffey and Lilly Ross doing an excellent job in their figures by gaining the Silver medals for their age groups and Megan Willis and Evie Coffey placing 2nd in the Duet competition.

This was a very successful competition. Well done to all the girls that competed!

Multi Regional Age Groups
The 19 & Under recreational team came 5th. The 12 & Under recreational team and 12 & Under competitive team came 2nd. Robyn Stanhope came 5th in figures and 2nd for her solo routine. The 13/14 Team swam into third place. Ruby Walker achieved 11th in Figures and 7th in her Solo. The 15/16/17 Recreational Team won Gold. Overall great results!!

Rhiannon Williams has her GB Debut
Rhiannon was selected to swim at the Junior European Championships in Belgrade. PVSC want to say well done!
